There is a lot when it comes to gaming, especially now a days as gaming is a very massive money making industry and whit how games now a days play. Most games and companies are going the way of a service game type like a subscription but with micro-transactions as the main model. Also how these companies are putting in AI and Crypto in games that's a iffy move for me as an older generation of developer and gamer.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Right now I am a bit all over the place with most things in my life and I'm trying to get a hold of things to better progress my life. I am kinda trying to set my life up in a way that plays like a survival video game. It'll help with things.

As an adult it's harder to find time to go back and act like a kid again and play games with your friends. On the days when I can spend a good couple of hours to play a game or two I always look back at how I was as a kid playing video games.

Two of my favorite memories as a kid with games is how I came into the games Fable, and Halo CE. For Fable a friend had the game, but never played it other then once to show me, so I took it from him. With Halo, I'm fuzzy on how my mother got the game, but one day she comes home with a full Xbox and Halo. The Xbox itself was the transparent green Halo version as well. I was like the N64 kid! Yes I got the console and Halo before Fable if you were wondering.

When it comes to playing games now a days for me I don't do a lot of challenging High passed games. Well maybe on the slight occasion. But I really play chill, lite, survival games, or chill, and idle games. So I like to play games like Minecraft,Stardew Valley, LoZ, Pokemon, and others. You can watch me stream here some of these games.

Speaking of Minecraft, I run two servers. Right now only one of them is public, the other might become public. You should maybe check that out too? I promise it's cool. I'm also trying to remake the android app I had for the server. A place to see the world map, chat with anyone else who has the app, in app forum community, and the server shop. I am also starting a series about the server with some clips from any live stream, or stuff I record.

I have kinda recently made a new Steam account cause Valve is dumb, but across both my accounts, add with the games I own on Nintendo, and Xbox (I know, no PlayStation) I own about 450+ I know not a massive library like some people, but its still a lot. Lately I've wanted to play the game rather then let them collect dust. Also with how Video Game preservation is being treated I want to play the game and enjoy them.  So I will be streaming full play through of games. Some will be in one go, but most will go into several parts.

Here is the list of games I want to play to start off this challenge I am issuing myself.

  • Fable
  • Halo Series (Master Chief Collection)
  • Elder Scrolls: Skyrim
  • Doom (2016)
  • Bioshock Series
  • Pokemon (Violet & Shining Pearl)
  • Corn Kidz 64
  • Portal
  • Grand Theft Auto V
  • Legend of Zelda BOTW

The list will continue after I play through enough of these titles. If you want to suggest a game for me to play then you can send an email (games@dcj.lol) with any info on the game, screenshots, and of course a link. You can also submit games for me to play on my discord. It doesn't have to be from Steam. You can do Epic, GOG, and others.

The only rules I have right now for this Challenge is to complete the game. Doesn't mater what the difficultly is, or if I'm hunting for achievements, or going for a full 100%. As long as I play the games full story missions, levels and beat the last boss, level and all then I can cross off the game as finished.

Now I want to talk a bit about the game I am making. I still have lots of work to complete it and would like some help at one point (maybe). The game is a RPG about cats. My cats. I've been in work for it for about 2 years now, but its mainly about crafting the story. Hardly done any coding, modeling, designing work on it. I've had to change it a few times, as I've had some new cats come into my life along with my current cats. So I had to find a way to add them into my story. Also I keep asking some people I like in the real world if they would like to be in my game as a NPC, so I have to get their backstory made and all too.

I am trying to make Dev log videos about it, but they are pay-walled. Well its only to help the development of the game and for those who want to support the project and get the game as soon as its done. If you want to support the Project and see Dev log videos then please go subscribe to me on my other website.

So pretty much gaming now as an adult its just like gaming as anyone else really, just the adults have less time to play and if we sit wrong while gaming, or drink to many mtn dews it's over for us. Honestly gaming as an adult isn't that bad. Sure I suck way more at shooter games and get called a n00b but I still have fun. And it's also not like I can't play the countless waves of other games to provide my small monkey brain enjoyment.

Most the time I have to play games is after work, but after I can relax after work. I get off late (usually closing shift) then I take at least an hour to unwind, take a shower, make dinner and eat, smoke a bit, spend time with my cats, then If I'm feeling up for it and depending on the mood I'm in of what game to play. By that time it's pretty late. I usually have to also tell myself what I'm going to do for the couple hours (if that) to play games, work on my game, do my art, or just have a full lazy night since work was a lot that day.

I have a lot more to go over about a few other things that a kinda related to this topic, however I will write about that a different day. Until then see you later geeks!
